The Beta chapter of Alpha Sigma Theta
sorority was recognized as an organization on October 11, 1990 with the
help of some Alpha Sigma Theta sisters from Rochester Institute of
Technology (RIT). Then it was formally recognized as a sorority by the
Greek Council and Student Body Government on September 12, 1991. Our
beloved mascot is none other than dolphins. Our stone is pearl and our
blue carnation represents as our flower for this sorority. We also have
our own crest for this sorority. We have three chapters in the total
for this sorority, the Alpha at R.I.T and the Gamma at California State
University of Northridge (CSUN) in California.
