Personal Testimony

I was born in Washington State, and became deaf by the cause of meningitis at age 4. I heard about Jesus Christ from my parents. My mother guided me to accept Jesus as my Savior at age 6. But, shortly after that, I went on wrong paths and did not follow God. I was oblivious to God and His Word while I attended churches with sporadic interpreters since my youth. I gained no full understanding about Him and His Son Jesus until my teen years. I was invited by a friendly interpreter at church, and we talked about how to live with Jesus eternally. That day, I decided to rededicate my life to the Lord at age 16.

As an introvert person, I did not have a lot of friends because of my neurological disorder of autism. I had personally experienced a lot of bullying, teasing and abusing. I suffered a lot with my deafness and mild autism. I get deeply frustrated and depressed often. I had been living in loss and rejection of friends, facing social struggles, having irritable and suicidal thoughts and living in seclusion to myself for a long time. My life had gone bitter and rotten since. I have tough times to give God His glory while He mercifully used me to live through the face of long adversities. Because I discovered that God is working everything together in my life in order to spiritually accomplish His free will (Romans 8:28), I started to refine my thoughts to Him and to sacrificially live in Him so I can draw my lifelong relationship with Him and fully comprehend Him better. It is truly evident that God is still in the process of transforming me from the past to a new, abundant life and to live as God's ambassador. Although I am still living in the root of loneliness and chronic pain, God still loves me as a whole and productive person for a greater ministry, and conforming to His Word and into His character.

As I follow with God’s grace daily, I became consumed with advantage of many things in my tireless pursuit of Him. He is steadily working in me through Campus Crusade for Christ at Gallaudet University. While pursuing a possible career in multimedia, I have been faithfully attending the weekly meetings, actively getting involved in Bible Study and ministering students with advertisements on campus. I had found whatever strengths and spiritual gifts God gave me are Web design and technical skills. Based on God’s will, I decided to build the Websites so I can propagate His message better. He uniquely uses me to develop the desire to help build multiple and spiritual movements, to cast vision of the creative ministries, and to sustain the mission through the internet. In fact, I am getting the training to be a student leader to help reach my fellow students for Jesus on campus. As I unleashed my own leadership ability on campus, I use these sites to fully influence and motivate students to rather know God in such a personal way.

Until my junior year, I did not realize that God is leading me to seek a career as a full-time ministry staff in technical support with CCC at the Mid-Atlantic Regional places. Delegating as God's ambassador, deaf ministry and evangelism would maybe be my primary focus as the Lord's leading me to serve for the Deaf world. My unbridled passion for the Deaf had grown because I feel I am uniquely suited to build bridges and help them to know God and to grow by faith. My sincere heart is about seeing them to fulfill God's main purpose and to disciple His great commission for their lives. I hope to use the technology to collectively network His most powerful message of love and gospel from Him to those who needs to hear with encouragement and inspiration. If it was not for that friendly interpreter, I would not have a chance to live this life that God has already planned for me.

If you did receive Jesus as Savior years ago, it is time to take action to change our hearts and conform to be like Christ. I dont want to see you get trapped in spiritual conflicts. I saw how God has given me this wonderful, life-changing experiences so I can use my talents to reach deaf people for Christ.

Sincerely;

Jake Paul Lowe.
